
Bio
Piotr Lipowicz is a versatile guitarist and composer. After graduating from the Music Academy in Katowice, Poland, he moved to Austria to continue studying at the University of Music and Performing Arts in Graz, where he had a chance to study, meet and play with great musicians from all over the world. Since then he established himself on the Austrian and European young jazz scene appearing on major music festivals like Getxo Jazz Festival (SP), JazzBez (UA), Jazzwerkstatt (AUT), INNtöne (AUT) or Opera Forward Festival and NJO Muziekzommer (NL).
Inspired by eclectic players like Bill Frisell, Jeff Parker or Nels Cline, Piotr aims to feel natural in various styles and genres. Besides working with different jazz and rock bands like: Daniel Holzleitner’s Comprovisition, Daniel Varga Eastern European Quartet or Moped Loewen among others, he is a member of an Amsterdam-based chamber quintet Quinteto del Diablo and, since recently, is also active as a classical guitarist taking part in a Dutch National Opera production Een Lied voor de Maan. Currently, Piotr resides in the Netherlands, where he currently graduated from the Conservatorium van Amsterdam.
